Getting to Floriade

Plan your trip before you arrive

Floriade is held in Commonwealth Park, Regatta Place, Parkes, Canberra. We would like your visit to Floriade to be as enjoyable as possible, so please check the details below to make your arrival and departure hassle free.

Transport Canberra is rolling out a light rail network to deliver a modern transport system for this growing city. This has resulted in some changes to bus routes, road closures and car park availability, so please keep an eye on this page for all the updated information on where to park, the new free Floriade Weekend Express buses, and the free Floriade Daily Shuttle bus, all coming soon.

Park Closure : During the construction phase of Floriade, Commonwealth Park is closed to the public, and the area has been fenced off. We apologise for any inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience while we create Australia’s Biggest Celebration of Spring!

Walk, Ride or Scoot

Floriade is a pleasant walk from the City Centre. The walk from the Light Rail stop via City Walk and Allara Street to Floriade takes about 15 minutes.

If you’re parking in the National Triangle and walking to Floriade, this will take you between 20 and 30 minutes.

Please note that pedestrian access along Commonwealth Avenue from the city has changed, for more information, visit the Built for CBR website.

Ride to Floriade and enjoy the fresh spring air. Bicycle racks are located at every entry gate to Floriade.

Make sure you bring your own chain and lock, as bicycles and tricycles (including hand propelled tricycles for young children) must be left at the gate.

Scooters are another great option to get to Floriade from your car park or bus stop. Please be aware though that scooters are not allowed to be ridden in the Floriade site.
