Begin your day by taking your tastebuds on a journey through the park to explore Floriade’s foodie inspired garden beds, where colourful floral displays celebrate seasonal harvests and iconic Australian food moments.  

11:00am

Head to the Garden House by Bunnings Warehouse for an enticing range of workshops, masterclasses and cooking demonstrations. 

Roll up your sleeves and learn something new.  

Build your own grazing box with Groovy Grazing on 18 September at 11am or 10 October at 1:30pm, or perfect your matcha-making skills in a Teddy’s Matcha Masterclass happening on 8 and 10 October at 11am.

Enjoy live cooking demonstrations by local chefs 

Join some of Canberra’s talented local chefs as they showcase their favourite dishes and share their expert tips and techniques to inspire your next meal at home.  

On 25 September at 11:30am, Chef Clement Chauvin of Les Bistronomes will show you how great French cooking doesn’t have to be complicated. This event is free, but you must book a spot online beforehand.

Indulge in a Floriade Grazing Box 

Pause for a picnic lunch among the blooms with your very own Floriade Grazing Box. Simply pre-order online before your visit, collect your box, then find the perfect spot to enjoy.

Gather tips and tricks from Majura Valley 

Drop in to the Majura Valley Kitchen Garden for a free tomato growing workshop anytime on 13 or 26 September. The team will show you how to grow tomato seedlings, with the opportunity to take one home to plant this spring.  

While you’re there, walk through their working seasonal garden, ask questions and take notes for your own backyard garden.

Grab a drink to relax and unwind 

Relax with a drink from either the Bentspoke Beer Garden, Bar Berra or the Underground Spirits Cocktail Gin Garden, enjoy live music and take in the vibrant festival atmosphere.

Take part in a tasting experience 

Expand your palate with a range of guided tasting experiences from experts in the field.  

One not to miss is Tasting Australia with Wiradjuri man Adam Shipp, where you’ll explore Australian native plants, their cultural significance, traditional uses and more through a curated tasting and storytelling experience. Join him on Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September at various times. This event is ticketed, buy your tickets here.

All aboard the Floriade Train 

Start your day with a ride on the Floriade Train and enjoy a scenic loop of Commonwealth Park. It’s the perfect way to get your bearings and take in the colourful displays before setting off to explore. 

The Floriade train operates throughout the event.

Get your hands dirty at Floriade Sprouts 

Head to Floriade Sprouts and get your hands dirty with a potting-up workshop from 10am to 1pm on Fridays and Saturdays during the event. Little ones can learn, create and take home something special from their Floriade experience.

Family fun at the Street Theatre 
Ready for a giggle? Discover what’s on at the Street Theatre, where family-friendly performances and interactions offer plenty of laughs and entertainment.

Lunch and live entertainment 

Grab some lunch and settle in near Stage 88 or the Tulip Stage for an afternoon performance. From live music to circus fun, there are new performances on each day.

Discover Gnome Knoll 

Take a stroll through to Gnome Knoll’s new home and wonder at the colourful range of painted gnomes – or paint your own to display or take home as a unique souvenir. 

Open during 10am to 3:30pm on weekends and during school holidays (28 September to 9 October).

Back to Floriade Sprouts for more fun 

Head back to Floriade Sprouts for an afternoon packed with creative workshops and activities.  

Design your own DIY Floral Bookmark to take home from 1pm to 4pm on 12 and 13 September and 10 and 11 October. 

Create flower inspired crafts in the Flower Feast Paper Creations workshop happening from 1pm to 4pm on 19, 20, 26 and 27 September. 

Join the Warehouse Circus Kids Workshop to learn exciting circus skills from 2pm to 4pm from 6 to 9 October. 

From craft to circus skills, there’s plenty of fun things happening to keep the kids entertained.

Hop on the Ferris Wheel  

Finish you Floriade adventure with a ride on the iconic Ferris Wheel. Enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the spectacular garden beds and take in the beauty of Australia’s Biggest Celebration of Spring from above.

Start with a Floriade Garden Tour 

Begin your day with a guided Floriade Garden Tour and take in the beautiful blooms while you hear the stories, inspiration and horticultural expertise behind this year’s displays. 

The tours run from 10am to 10:45am, weekdays during Floriade (excluding weekends and public holidays). This is paid activity, buy your tickets here.

If you’re still peckish, explore Floriade’s wide range of delicious food vendors and settle in for lunch near Stage 88 or the Tulip Stage. Sit back and enjoy live music, community performances and the vibrant festival atmosphere.

Glow up at Sprouts 

Get your night glowing with the kids at Sprouts, where they can dive into a range of illuminated activities including balloon twisting, ring toss and lantern making. Be sure to return for the lantern parade at 7:30pm! 

7:30pm 

Wander through dazzling lights 

As you make your way through the park, discover the dazzling light installations alongside the radiant flower bed displays. Plus, keep an eye out for the roving performers you encounter along the way, bringing moments of wonder and entertainment. 

8:00pm 

Dinner and night-time entertainment 

Pause a while to enjoy some tasty treats from our delicious food vendors – from dinner deals to dessert delights. Then make your way to the Street Theatre to experience the thrill of the fire performance or the fantastically fun circus performances under moonlight.

Take a night-time ride on the amusements 

Before heading home, enjoy a ride on one of the amusements and experience the magic of NightFest and it’s shining lights from above on the Ferris Wheel.

Wander through glowing gardens 

Start your night with a stroll through the illuminated garden beds, experiencing the immersive light displays that enhance the floral displays.

Discover dazzling light installations 

As you make your way through the park, discover spectacular light installations and delight in the roving and street performers you encounter along the way!

Visit the Garden House by Bunnings Warehouse 

Pop into the Garden House by Bunnings Warehouse and discover interactive talks, bingo fun and DJ tunes throughout the night to unwind and enjoy.

Enjoy markets, dinner and a sweet treat 

Peruse the markets after dark, then pick up a tasty treat from the delicious range of food vendors. From meal deals to nibbles and sweet treats, there is something for everyone. 

9:00pm

Listen to live music at Stage 88 

Settle in and enjoy live music on Stage 88 from headline acts The Temper Trap, Tim Finn, Pacific Avenue, Busby Marou and Christine Anu along with a great line up of local musicians.
