Eyes for Life

As an initiative of Canberra Blind Society, Eyes for Life Canberra is excited to participant in Floriade About Town, with a floral installation created by our dedicated arts and craft group. This group is open year-round and welcomes people of all abilities. With a special focus on individuals living with low vision, it provides a safe and supportive space to explore creativity, build skills, and enjoy the benefits of working together on meaningful projects.

For Floriade About Town 2025, our group has been busy handcrafting colourful paper flowers that will transform the walls of our office into a bright and uplifting display. Each flower is traced, cut, and threaded onto string, with guidance provided for those who need assistance. The result is a collection of unique creations, each reflecting the talents and abilities of the individuals who made them. No two flowers are the same, forming a vibrant installation that celebrates diversity, community, and the joy of creativity.

This initiative is about a lot more than decoration; it’s about inclusion and connection. Floriade About Town allows us to share the beauty of Floriade with the broader community while ensuring everyone has the chance to take part, regardless of ability. We warmly invite you to stop by, participate, see our floral display, and celebrate with us as we bring a bit of Floriade into the heart of our community

Eyes for Life Canberra

Eyes for Life Canberra (EFLC), an initiative of the Canberra Blind Society, provides advice, counselling, and support services to people of all ages who are coming to terms with, or living with, a vision impairment.

We can provide advice, support, and information tailored to individual needs.

We offer a range of programs to help individuals cope with the effects of low vision. We work with people who are experiencing a vision impairment to help identify barriers and develop strategies to enable them to maintain their independence and fully participate in the activities of everyday life
