Sip Your Way Through Spring with Floriade About Town

Floriade isn’t just a feast for the eyes. Across Canberra, bartenders, distillers and venues are embracing the spirit of spring with floral-inspired cocktails, botanical flavours and limited-edition drinks created exclusively for Floriade About Town. Whether you’re looking for a pre-dinner spritz, a post-Floriade nightcap or a rooftop drink with a view, there’s plenty to discover beyond the flower beds.

One of the best places to start is The Howling Moon in Braddon. Perched above the city skyline, this rooftop destination is putting a Floriade twist on golden hour with two signature cocktails and a woodfired pizza for $65 per person. With panoramic views and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to continue your Floriade experience after a day among the blooms.

Just down the road, BentSpoke BrewPub is celebrating spring with a special Floriade-inspired beer and sparkling water alongside seasonal menu specials designed to showcase the flavours of the season. It’s the perfect stop for those looking to swap cocktails for craft brews without missing out on the Floriade spirit.

Cocktail lovers should also make time for Highball, where a special Floriade menu features floral creations including the Late Bloomer and Photo-Synth Sour, alongside a Springtime Splash Punch Bowl designed for sharing. Order from the menu and you’ll also go into the draw to win a bottle of Hendrick’s Flora Adora gin.

For those looking to explore floral flavours, Clover Dining has created a collection of vibrant seasonal cocktails inspired by blossoms and sunshine, paired perfectly with a limited-edition Yuzu Tiramisu dessert. Nearby, VICE Restaurant is pouring botanical creations including the Butterfly Pea Spritz and Hibiscus Swizzle, alongside a seasonal dessert inspired by spring.

Arriving in Canberra? The celebrations begin at Canberra Airport, where City Hill Café is serving Floriade-inspired cocktails including a Honey & Pomegranate Margarita and Blossom & Coconut Cocktail, while nearby retail displays showcase local gourmet products and spirits.

Heading to a show? The Canberra Theatre Centre is serving a limited-edition Floriade Spritz, combining elderflower liqueur, prosecco and soda with an edible flower garnish, available before performances and during interval throughout the festival.

In New Acton, Devil You Don’t is offering a limited-time menu of floral cocktails and mocktails, while Midnight Bar has partnered with local distillery UnderGround Spirits on a collection of botanical cocktails celebrating Canberra in bloom.

Cocktail enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy in Braddon, too. The Peacemaker Saloon is giving the classic Old Fashioned a floral makeover, while Volstead Repeal is pairing botanical martinis with floral whisky flights. Hidden beneath the city streets, Molly is showcasing a trio of flower-inspired classics including The Jasmine, The Chrysanthemum and The Jack Rose.

Further north, Gungahlin Lakes Golf & Community Club is embracing the season with Petals & Pimms, Secret Garden Sangria and a spring-inspired Paint & Sip experience, proving Floriade cocktails aren’t limited to the city centre.

Whether you prefer rooftop cocktails, floral spritzes, botanical martinis or whisky flights, Floriade About Town offers plenty of ways to raise a glass to spring.
