Inspired by the themes of seasonality, abundance and togetherness, Futuresteading Huddle is a unique participatory experience that invites strangers to become neighbours through storytelling, meaningful conversation and shared reflection.
Hosted by author, farmer and educator Jade Miles, this long-table gathering draws on the ideas explored in her books Futuresteading and Huddle. Guided by a series of thoughtful prompts inspired by flowers, food, community and the changing seasons, participants are encouraged to reflect on what they are cultivating in their own lives, what deserves to flourish, what needs pruning, and the future they hope to grow.
Part live storytelling event, part facilitated conversation and part community experiment, Futuresteading Huddle celebrates the transformative power of gathering together. Guests will leave with fresh perspectives, new connections and a renewed appreciation for the role that community, ritual and seasonal living play in creating meaningful, resilient lives.
Reflecting Floriade’s Feast of Flowers theme, the experience uses the language and symbolism of gardens, cultivation and harvest as a lens for exploring human connection and collective flourishing. Drawing on the long-table traditions, local food culture and seasonal rhythms of Black Barn Farm, Jade creates a welcoming and engaging experience that is thoughtful, accessible and deeply participatory.
