WORKSHOP: Introduction to wax sculpting

25 September

Add to favourites

Discover the creative possibilities of wax sculpting and learn how artists create models for lost wax casting, a traditional process where a wax form is melted out of a mould and replaced with molten metal.

Participants will explore the history and principles of the technique, learn common limitations and mistakes, then use specialist tools to shape beeswax and coconut oil into a ring, pendant, brooch or original design.

Finished pieces can be kept as wax models or cast in a choice of metals through Palloys at the participant’s own expense, with support from the teachers.
