Get an early taste of what you can experience during this year’s Windows to the World event with Windows to the World at Floriade on Saturday 14 October 2023.

You’ll get a chance to see traditional performances and travel through the world as you explore exhibits of traditional clothing, enjoy music and dance performances, taste local foods and coffee, and even get a henna tattoo.

Below are the embassies and high commissions who will be exhibiting and some information about what to expect.

    • Sampling coffee and cocadas – a sweet treat of caramel, biscuit base and coconut flakes 
    • Children’s activities: Painting books/sheets with typical animals from Costa Rica
  • Embassy of the Republic of Cuba
    • TraditionalCuban outfits/ accessories to try on
    • Cultural photo booths with Cuban food, street and culture
    • Children’s activities
  • Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador
    • Coffee and chocolates
    • Cultural photo booth (Unique frame with Ecuadorian roses) and photo opportunity with ‘Diablo Huma’
    • Cultural Trivia and Quizzes and Ecuadorian treasure hunt
    • Traditional Clothing Try-On: Showcase some of our traditional clothes from the Andean region, Cuenca and Zuleta.
    • Displays of information about Ecuador and it’s “four worlds” (Andes, Amazon, Coast and Galapagos Islands). 
  • Embassy of the Republic of El Salvador
    • Photography exhibition
    • Sample Salvadoran coffee
  • Embassy of the Republic of Guatemala
    • Display of Guatemalan textiles and  Indigenous handcrafts (masks and others)
    • Samples of Guatemalan coffee and hibiscus flowered based traditional beverage drank in Guatemala
  • Embassy of Italy
    • Sample Ferrero products and espresso coffee
    • Roving Entertainment – Venetian masks around the park
    • Dante Alighieri Society Choir
    • Chants and Nursery rhymes (Italian language lessons)
    • Traditional games for all ages and children’s workshops

    • Cultural performances
  • Embassy of Peru
    • Exhibition of national dress
    • Samples of Peruvian sweets and salad canapes
