To coincide with Floriade & this amazing workshop, Kate Quinn and Emily Day have also put on an exhibition so you can come and see their incredible artworks at Meet Gather Collect and maybe even take home a piece of Floriade with you!
The exhibition ‘Bluebell ‘is a joint, mini exhibition by Brisbane artists Kate Quinn and Emily Day. Central to this body of work is their individual depiction of the Royal Bluebell flower, the floral emblem of the ACT.
The central theme of the Bluebell is intentional; drawing reference to the show’s location, in the bushland surrounds of Aranda, Canberra at Meet Gather Collect. A celebration of place, depicted in both Kate and Emily’s varying styles and preferred mediums.
Meet Gather Collect is a beautifully curated store which has a collection of homewares and gifts by Australian artists and designers. We believe in spreading the love, to bring a collection of items from all over Australia so everyone can enjoy. It is home to many local artists that we feel incredibly lucky to have.
We also host a range of workshops where we can support more artists in what they do best. We love that people can come and learn something new, meet new people and take some time for themselves.
Located in Aranda, we are the definition of ‘bush capital’.
Floriade About Town is bringing Floriade to the whole city —check out the full list of participants here.
